Make Ethical AI Decisions in Your Counseling Practice
A 6-hour NBCC-approved certificate that gives you a practical framework for integrating AI tools while centering client care, cultural responsiveness, and professional responsibility.
Practical Knowledge
You'll get a decision-making framework you can use immediately, not abstract principles. Each module includes real case studies, specific questions to ask yourself, and downloadable tools you can reference when AI decisions come up in session or supervision.
Career Longevity
AI tools will keep changing, but the care ethics framework you learn here stays relevant. You'll develop a way of thinking through AI integration that applies to whatever tools emerge next year or five years from now.
Cultural Responsiveness
This course addresses algorithmic bias, language access issues, and how AI tools can reinforce or disrupt existing power dynamics in therapy. You'll learn to evaluate AI through a cultural competence lens, not just a compliance checklist.
Imagine Counseling with Confidence in Your AI Tools
Signing up for our course will equip you with the ethical framework to confidently integrate AI into your practice.

Meet Your Instructor
Michael Jones, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC, BC-TMH developed the AI Care Ethics Certificate to address a gap he experienced firsthand as a clinical supervisor and counselor educator: counselors need practical frameworks for ethical AI integration, not just principles to reference.
With expertise in telemental health, multicultural counseling, and clinical supervision, Dr. Jones recognized that existing professional codes provide essential standards but lack the decision-making tools counselors need when AI enters therapeutic practice. His research applies care ethics philosophy specifically to AI integration in counseling, offering a relational approach that complements rather than replaces professional standards.
Dr. Jones has presented this framework at professional conferences and has a publication in press with Dr. LA Stretch titled "Toward ethical AI in counseling: A relational care framework." He brings both scholarly rigor and practical clinical experience to this certificate program.
His work emphasizes what counselors actually need: not technical AI training, but strengthened ethical reasoning for the real-time decisions they're already making about technology in practice.
